EDF, the French state-owned electrictity group are signing a contract with the American group Exelon. Together, they intend to share their experience in order to build a strong enterprise.
The main French supplier of American electricity makes his first step behind the Atlantic. For five years, the cooperation, has put into service their know-how of nuclear experts of power stations. Especially in the domains of the stopping of edges, the working of fuel and reliability of equipment . EDF wants to acquire up to 9,9% of the American electricity group. At the same time want to exploit the nuclear power stations using reactors of third generation (EPR). The French electricity company hopes to invest with other companies in new power stations.
In the long term EDF has the intention of creating a joint venture with potential partners, to share risks and activities.
